Taking Back Sunday Photograph: Nadar was a ceaseless, energetic worker. While still taking back sunday photograph portraits he continued to illustrate books and to write novels. He constantly experimented. He was among the first to photograph by electric light, and produced a documentation of underground Paris, its catacombs and its sewers. He was the first to photograph from a balloon, in 1858.
QUADRAGESIMA, kwod-ra-jes'i-ma, the period of the 40 days' fast preceding Easter: the season has a like name in Greek, Tesserakoste, fortieth. The first Sunday of Lent is sometimes called Quadragesima, but in the Roman calendar it is Dominica prima Quadragesimae, first Sunday of Lent and the Sundays following are denominated, respectively, the second, third and fourth of Quadragesima, Passion Sunday (Dominica Pas-sionis), and Palm Sunday (Dominica Palmarum). In the Book of Common Prayer these six Sundays are called the first, second, third, fourth and fifth of Lent and "Sunday next before Easter" ; but this Sunday is also styled in England and the United States "Passion Sunday," and its week "Passion Week" ; its familiar name among Catholics is "Holy Week."
