Sur Face And Cataloged: Many years of analysis will be required before archaeologists are able to draw broad conclusions from the treasur face and catalogede found in the sacred well. The breakthrough was historic. With the water clarified, expedition members could now excavate the sacred well without the barriers that hampered earlier explorers. Within two weeks the number of cataloged items climbed to more than 500.
Shortly afterward, one of the divers recovered a piece of polychrome ceramic known as Tepeu. This is considered the finest type of ceramic ever fashioned by Maya craftsmen. |
