Radius Of Paris:

Radius Of Paris The thrift traveler should be aware of at least six railway bargai offered by the SNCF. Bon Dimanche and Joyeux Week-End tripper tickets are joke-cheap to hundreds of places (and return) within the 100-kilometer (60-mile radius of Paris. These Good Sunday and Happy Week-End trips open also from twelve or more other cities of France. Winter sports tickets are another week-end bargain in the same gi eral category as above. Billets Touristiques (Tourist Tickets) offer 20 to 30 per cent reductions on long circular tours, provided a stopover of at least 6 is made in at least one resort.

The size and shape of nucleons and nuclei are determined by scattering very high-energy electrons off of them, much as relatively low-energy electrons are used in electron microscopes to determine the structure of large molecules. Experiments with the 2-mi (3.2-km) long Stanford accelerator have extended knowledge of the proton structure to details of the order of one-tenth of the proton's radius. The proton has a radius of about one fermi, and scientists are now able to plot the distribution of charge of the proton as related to the distance from its center. (One fermi equals 10-13 cm.) The accuracy of electron-scattering experiments has been extended to such a degree that not only the general shape of the nuclear charge distribution is determined, but also slight fluctuations in the charge density. Electron scattering is also becoming a precision tool for investigating the isotope shift, the change in size of the charge distribution as uncharged neutrons are added. A careful study by the Stanford group showed that in the particular case of calcium the mean radius squared shrinks as neutrons are added to the nucleus.

The Selective Shopper on the Prowl Paris is a shopper's heaven, especially if the shopper is on the distaff side. It is an expensive heaven, in these days, notably excepting perfumes, which are far cheaper in Paris than in America, but the cost doesn't seem to frighten tourists away. Paris est toujours Paris.
