Modern Art Rooms:

Modern Art Rooms Assume you wish to determine room availability for a hotel that has a total of 904 rooms. Six rooms are out of service, due to maintenance problems. Last night, 881 rooms were occupied, and 313 rooms are scheduled to be vacated today.

For informal American Colonial and English types of decoration, there is nothing more appropriate than chintz. In the more formal variations of these styles, silk damasks and brocades may be used. Velvets, wool damasks, and heavy brocades lend themselves well to early Italian and Spanish rooms. Eighteenth century and early 19th century rooms may be treated with silks and printed cottons in patterns that are consistent with the periods. In Victorian rooms all kinds of satins, damasks, and reps may be used, and chintz, as well, if it is Victorian in pattern. In modern art rooms rooms, cellophane, corduroy, permatex, and the coarsely woven modern art rooms fabrics of nylon and rayon are the most usual types of Textiles used, although other modern art rooms materials heretofore mentioned may be employed if extreme novelty is desired. Striped materials are sometimes used for overcurtains, but if the color contrast of the stripes is strong, they are apt to cut up the Wall space too much. Vertical stripes give a higher appearance to the room, whereas horizontal stripes have the reverse effect. The type of material to be used for window draperies depends entirely upon the general character of the room and the style of the furniture. Formal rooms call for satins, damasks, silks, and brocades. Simple rooms call for linens, chintzes, and inexpensive materials that are effective and cheerful in appearance.

For example, assume that a hotel has 326 rooms. On September 12, six rooms are scheduled to be out of service for painting and refurbishing. Thus, 320 rooms will be in inventory. Let's say that reservations have been received for 224 rooms on that date. The projected occupancy rate is determined as follows.
