Beriot In Paris: GRANADOS, gra-na'tfeos, Enrique (1867-1916), Spanish composer and pianist. He was born in Lerida, Spain, on July 29, 1867. Showing precocious musical talent, he received his first lessons from the local bandmaster. Later he studied piano in Barcelona and composition in Madrid. From 1887 to 1889 he was also a piano pupil of Charles de Beriot in Paris. From 1889 he made his home in Barcelona, where he conducted the Society of Classical Concerts and established his own school of piano teaching, the Academia Granados.
